Terms of Use
Last updated July 13, 2026
The short version
Loopter is free to use, for personal and commercial work alike. It comes as-is, with no warranty - keep copies of files that matter. Download it only from official sources, and don’t resell it or pass it off as yours. That’s the spirit; the letter follows.
What these terms cover
These terms apply to the Loopter app for macOS and to this website (loopter.app), both made and operated by Looplogic Labs. By downloading or using the app, or using this site, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, the remedy is simple and free: don’t use them.
Your license to use Loopter
Loopter is free. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app on Macs you own or control, for any lawful purpose, personal or commercial. There is no trial, no watermark, and nothing gated behind payment.
You may not:
- sell, rent, or charge for the app, or bundle it into a paid offering;
- redistribute modified builds, or distribute the app in a way that suggests it comes from anyone other than Looplogic Labs;
- remove or alter the app’s branding, signatures, or license notices.
Loopter bundles open-source engines (FFmpeg, ImageMagick, Ghostscript, Inkscape, and others). Those components remain governed by their own licenses, which are included in the app’s acknowledgements. Nothing in these terms restricts any rights those licenses grant you.
Official downloads only
The only official sources for Loopter are this website and our GitHub releases page (which the download button on this site points to). Copies obtained anywhere else may be modified, outdated, or bundled with software we have nothing to do with - we can’t vouch for them and these terms don’t cover them. Every official build is signed with our Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple; if macOS says otherwise, stop and download a fresh copy from loopter.app.
Your files are your responsibility
Loopter converts files you choose, on your machine, under your control. You are responsible for having the rights to convert the content you process and for keeping backups of anything important. Conversion is transformation - a lossy format will lose data by design - so check results before deleting originals.
No warranty
The app and this website are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We work hard to make Loopter reliable, but we don’t promise it is error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for your specific needs.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Looplogic Labs will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages - including lost data, lost profits, or business interruption - arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app or this website. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for Loopter, which is zero. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Trademarks
“Loopter”, “Looplogic”, and their logos belong to Looplogic Labs. Saying “works with Loopter” or linking here is welcome; implying endorsement or affiliation without permission is not.
Third-party services
This site links to services we don’t operate (GitHub for downloads, Ko-fi for support). Their terms apply on their turf. How we handle data is covered separately in our Privacy Policy.
Changes and termination
We may update these terms as the app evolves; the current version always lives at this page with the date at the top. Material changes will be reflected before they apply. We may discontinue the app or site at any time - though since Loopter runs entirely on your Mac, your installed copy keeps working regardless.
